This projector is extremely good in grayscale OOTB. The lowest DeltaE error is 2.3 (which is barely noticed by trained eyes). It also displayed a lot of subtle differences in color for instance, when Adam hit his light staff into the ground.

Other features include 3D Support Keystone Correction, 3D Support and Automatic Focus. These features make it easier to install and setup. It also supports BenQ's standard setup options. It doesn't support the vertical focus or lens shift. It also has a digital image distortion feature which can be helpful in less-than ideal installations however it can affect the quality of images.

GP500 Platinum

The GP500 includes a range of standard and some not so common convenience and quality of life features, such as Keystone and Corner Fit which digitally warp the image to aid in installation issues, the Toslink optical Audio Out connector that mutes the built-in speaker when headphones are connected or an alternate speaker system is plugged in as well as Bluetooth capability that allows it to function as a wireless receiver to play music playback. 3D playback is supported as well.

Subjectively, I discovered the GP500 to have very precise grayscale OOTB. It measured a DeltaE of just 2.3 which is lower than what's visible to the human eye, but quite acceptable. The Dynamic Contrast function was a great help in bringing depth to Life of Pi's limited night scenes. The color display was superb. Avatar was also very impressive.

GP500 Black

The GP500 has tabs for opening both on the left and right sides of the shield. It is Pinlock Max Vision ready. It also has the shield lock to stop it from opening while riding (or in the event of an accident). The rear of the helmet is equipped with a double-d-ring fastener that is free of tools.

The auto-focus worked very well and produced clear images with many distinct shades. It struggled with the darker scenes at night in Life of Pi but overall it gave a cinematic feeling.

There aren't any racer graphics for the GP500 however you can purchase Airoh Sectors, Scrape and Cosmos in plain black. You can also buy it with Rockstar, Drive and Check graphics for a more track-focused appearance.

The GP500 White also has several regular and not-so-common quality of life features like Keystone and Corner Fit (which is digital image warping). These features can be helpful for less-than ideal installations as they make it easier to display a flat image. However, they can affect the image quality. It is important to be aware of this. The GP500 offers a superior grayscale performance OOTB and produced very clean and distinct shades.
