Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that work with robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's difficult to know whether the update actually working until you see it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the best choice is probably one that is a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank, so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. These bots also come with many additional features such as smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be expensive at retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.

Roborock makes several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't perform to the standards. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with some of the features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is an area where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.

The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring expenses, charges faster and offers similar battery life while offering superior performance on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin that does not require more emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is, on the other hand is more affordable and is much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it struggles less with bulky materials such as cereal.
