It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums with mop vacuums. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.

It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one motion. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as good. The rotating mop spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris like broken toys and books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's easy to install and is effective however, it's something you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.

It's expensive, however it has many useful features. It's crucial to note that it incurs periodic expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.

Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able capture many of the hair shed by our cats, and even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots that vacuum and mop struggled. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and an 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base also has a number of control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning and then recall the robot vacuum reviews or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you free it. This was a rare incident however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually swap between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
