Changing the Battery in Your Mazda 3 Key Fob

It is frustrating to pull into your car at the end of a long, hard day and find that the key fob is dead. This is a straightforward fix that is easily done at a big box retailer or at a hardware store.

Adding a spare key fob to your Mazda 3 can be an affordable way to keep yourself from the hassle of being driven to the dealership and having them re-program your keys.

Battery Replacement

If you have a programmable key it is possible to clean the chip with isopropyl Alcohol or an electronic cleaner to help it return to functionality. If this does not work the chip, it is likely fried and will need to be replaced.

Locking/unlocking the Doors

The buttons on the key fob transmit electronic signals to the solenoid in the car, which converts the signal into mechanical action. It locks and unlocks doors.
